How is my data protected?

Your private writing is encrypted on your device before it is saved, using a key derived from your password, so the server stores data it cannot read. Account-scoped database rules and private storage add another layer. The Privacy page explains what is stored and how deletion works.

What happens if I forget my password?

You set a recovery phrase when you turn on private writing. If you forget your password, that phrase is the only other way to unlock your writing. Reflections cannot reset it for you, so keep it somewhere safe.
